For Immediate Release

The Tacoma Concert Band proudly presents “Holiday Traditions,” its popular holiday concert, on December 10, 2017. This will be the TCB’s first holiday concert to be performed at the Pantages Theater, and it will be special in many other ways as well. It is part of the TCB’s 2017-18 “Celebration Season,” celebrating our 38 years under Music Director Robert Musser, who will be retiring at the conclusion of the season. This is a concert that will appeal to both adults and children, and to accommodate the entire family, it will be performed on a Sunday afternoon. Among the holiday treats on the program, the one-and-only Dave Ross will read “The Night Before Christmas,” accompanied by the band, reprising a performance that was wildly popular at our last holiday concert. Also featured will be the fine soprano soloist Erin Guinup.

“Holiday Traditions” will not be just another repetition of familiar carols and Christmas tunes, but it will consist primarily of original compositions and variations on those well-known themes that you have never before heard. Also included will be music of Hanukkah and both Russian and Ukrainian carols. Be prepared to be thoroughly entertained!
