Eligibility
* Any Puget Sound area high school woodwind, brass or percussion student who has received the recommendation of his/her high school band director.
Benefits
* Perform as a soloist with one of the most respected concert bands in the nation on May 1, 2010, at the Pantages Theater, Tacoma.
* Receive coaching in style, interpretation and stage presence from conductor Robert Musser, Professor Emeritus, University of Puget Sound.
* Receive the Wayne Timmerman Prize of $200.
* And finally, use this exciting opportunity as preparation and experience to compete for regional and state solo competitions and college scholarships.
Requirements
* The student must perform a live solo audition of sufficient musical substance to demonstrate technical and musical abilities.
* The performance time of the solo must not exceed 12 minutes.
* The soloist must be accompanied by his/her own pianist.
* The solo performed at the audition must be the one intended for the performance with the band.
* A band accompaniment must be readily available. (The music will be provided by the band.)
